She played a regular role in the soap show As the World turns. The show was about medical and legal professions. Then, her character Jenny Griffith was featured in the legal thriller Suits. Harvey Specter a legal expert and Mike the assistant of his dealt with cases on this show. The show was met with high praise and numerous awards. Her work also includes the drama about police officers Blue Bloods. Blue Bloods received mostly favorable ratings. Ray appeared in many movies as well, such as the comedy musical The Rumperbutts and the drama Not Waving But Drowning. She was the lead actress.
