Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television host in America and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up personality, explains how to cook restaurant-style dishes in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell is also a part of many of the best eateries located in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. Her passion was for the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute of being a student in The Culinary Institute of America she says. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, which has had an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to enhance living conditions for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of childhood diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor Burrell travels throughout the United States to discuss her love for cooking and profession. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career that she feels so fortunate to have the opportunity to communicate with people what is most important to her.
