Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger, was born in
Katy, Texas on April 25 in 1969. Her mother, Kjellfrid (Andreassen), is a
former nurse and midwife born in Norway. Kven (Finnish), and is also of Swedish
as well as Norwegian descent. Emil Erich Zellweger is her father. He is a Swiss
engineer. They got married in the year 1963. Drew Zellweger is Renee's brother
and was born on February 15, 1967. When she was working at the drama group,
Renee became interested in acting. She took an acting course at the University of
Texas (Austin) and started to think about acting as a profession. She was
determined to pursue acting after graduating. But, Hollywood can be difficult
to break into, and so Renee determined to remain in Texas and try out for roles
in Houston. In Houston, she was able to get roles in films such as Reality
Bites (1994), and Empire Records (1995). Matthew McConaughey was another
Hollywood newcomer that she met working on the set of Texas Chainsaw Massacre
2: The Next Generation (1994). Renee saw him working on a project and decided
to audition. The role was given to her in Love as well as an offer of a 45
(1994). The film was a huge success and earned her the respect of many that she
decided to move to Los Angeles. Her breakthrough came in another part in The
Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe was busy casting Jerry Maguire (1996)
with Tom Cruise. Crowe was watching actresses such as Bridget Fonda and Marisa
Tomei when He saw Zellweger's performance in The Whole Wide World (1996). He
auditioned Zellweger and was convinced the actress was the perfect Dorothy
Boyd. After her success in a handful of independent films, Renee felt confident
enough to go back to the big-budget Hollywood film industry. Meryl Streep was a
co-star in One True Thing (1998). She also appeared alongside Jim Carrey in Me,
Myself & Irene (2000) and began dating Carrey soon afterward. Bridget
