Camila Cabello Bio

Cabello was born in Havana, Cuba, to Sinuhe Estrabao and Alejandro Cabello. Her birthplace was in East Havana's Cojimar. Her father was born in Mexico City and is a Mexican who came to Cuba. Sofia is her older sister. Cabello's family moved frequently between Havana, Mexico City for the majority of her childhood. Cabello relocated to Miami, Florida with her mother when she was six years old. Her father was unable to obtain an immigration visa at the time and she joined the family in the following 18 months. Cabello was awarded American citizenship in the year 2008. Cabello was a student at Miami Palmetto High School, but she left during the 2012-2013 schoolyear while she was still in the 9th grade to pursue her singing career. Later, she earned her diploma from high school. Camila Cabello was a contestant on the TV talent show The X Factor in Greensboro, North Carolina with Aretha Franklin's "Respect" however her audition wasn't broadcast because the show didn't get the rights for the track. Cabello was eliminated in the "bootcampsection of the Miami process. Then, she was called back on the stage with the other contestants Ally Brooke and Normani Jauregui. They would form Fifth Harmony. They signed a contract with Syco Music, owned and managed by Simon Cowell, as well as Epic Records, L.A. Reid’s record label.
